Otoplasty
Otoplasty, more commonly referred to as ear correction, is fourth on the list, with 543 procedures carried out on men in 2013. This procedure will rectify the problem of protruding ears, which can be the source of much embarrassment in many men. The position of the cartilage in the ear is changed in order to make the angle of the ear better, and the procedure takes just a couple of hours. It can be carried out either with a local or general anaesthetic, depending on circumstances.
Liposuction
Here’s one that everyone has heard of, and it is surprising to many that it is not higher up the list.Liposuction is essentially the removal of fat using surgical methods, therefore leading to instant weight loss in the patient. It is most commonly performed around the stomach, hips, thighs and buttocks, and was a treatment performed on 554 men in 2013. It was also the fastest growing type of cosmetic surgery in the UK, as it saw an increase of 28% from 2012.
